University History

St Augustine International University (SAIU) Uganda was established in 2011 as a private not-for- profit institution of higher learning. It is licensed by the National Council for Higher education in Uganda to provide outstanding educational opportunities for students from diverse cultures and educational background. Its setting is urban, and the main campus is located at Bunga Hill along Kansanga - Ggaba Road. It currently has a total student enrollment of over 500 with an annual student intake of about 100 students. The student population is diverse with students coming from over 10 different countries (e.g Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, Pakistan, India, Australia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and DRC) and with a range of background.

 

The University is grounded in a culture of developing lifelong skills that enable its graduate to successfully participate in the society through a multi-sector approach, quality education and research in areas of focus. The university utilizes a semester-based academic calendar to implement the academic programmes offered in the various colleges. The curricula are designed to be always evolving to meet market needs and the emphasis of each curricula is on critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration and leadership. The University has passionate, inspiring faculty and Administration who are respected experts in their disciplines. Together, they bring unique experiences and styles to help and inspire students learning.
